I painted this from a photo of my periwinkles in my back yard.  I grow them all year -- they are the only flowering plant I can get to survive the extreme summer heat in Phoenix.  They are always so colorful.

I painted this from a photo I took outside the Mount Lemmon Sky Center in Tucson.  Our friend Adam Block, a well-known astro-imager, manages the observatory there for University of Arizona.  It's an educational and entertaining place to visit.

Hydrangeas don't grow here in Mesa, Arizona; but I love their beautiful colors.  I painted these from a reference photo I took in Portland, Oregon -- a much better place for them to grow.

I had several photos I had taken of still life set-ups last Spring at Scottsdale Artists' School.  I often use these photos for reference, and today I painted a "cropped" version of one of them.  It's just a piece of the entire set-up, but it was perfect for this small surface.  It's a happy painting.
