This isn't what I was going to paint today, but when I went to the market and saw all these bright colors, I grabbed the bouquet and decided to paint it instead.  These daisies are so brightly colored -- how do they do that?  It must be dye, because soon after I put the daisies in a vase,  the water turned pink!  This is painted on a deep-edge canvas, so no need to frame.

I haven't painted sunflowers in a while, so I did this little study to keep in practice.  This painting is on a small deep-edge canvas, so there's no need to frame it.  The sides are painted black (actually, the background and the sides are Payne's Gray acrylic -- not quite black).

I did this watercolor study today -- it's on the back of a really awful painting I did in a workshop (I won't mention which workshop).  Anyway, I liked this little painting so I decided to post it.  At least the sheet of paper wasn't a total loss.

I love to paint daisies, and I did this one from memory.  This is the first time I've tried the long and thin format.  Although it wouldn't work for everything, I like it for this.  This is painted on a deep-edge canvas (about 1-1/2" deep), so it doesn't need to be framed.  The sides are painted with black gesso.

I didn't have much time to paint today, so I did this little study from a photo I saw on paintmyphoto.ning.com.  This is a site where photographers post photos for artists to use as painting reference.  Although I was looking for a rooster, I couldn't pass up this cute little chick when I saw it.  Many thanks to the photographer, Diane Caswell Christian, for the use of her Spring Chick photo.
