Phantom, 12x9 oil painting

Phantom

12x9 oil painting

on Raymar cotton panel

Unframed

While I was visiting my son recently, Phantom showed up for breakfast at 6:00am.  Phantom is not their cat, but apparently has adopted my son's family. He really lives across the street, but he likes my son's house better.  I painted this from a photo I took of Phantom in the early morning light.

I started this painting in Krista Eaton's recent class at Scottsdale Artists' School, and I finally finished it today.  We had so much fun in that class -- I can't wait for the next one.

Pink Peonies, 6x6 oil painting

Pink Peonies

6x6 oil painting

on Raymar cotton panel

Unframed

Peonies give me fits!  I painted this from a photo I took of a still life setup in Krista Eaton's class at Scottsdale Artist's School.  I'm still working on a larger painting I started in that class.  This was some good practice.

Purple Passion, 8x8 oil painting

Purple Passion

8x8 oil painting

on Raymar cotton panel, unframed

I don't know the name of these little purple flowers, but I love the color.  I painted this from a still life set-up in Krista Eaton's class this past week at Scottsdale Artists's School.  We had so much fun -- the time passed all too quickly.  If you like the color purple, Google the words "images of purple flowers" for some great eye candy.

Tea Rose, 8x8 oil painting on deep-edge canvas

Tea Rose

8x8 oil painting

on deep-edge canvas,

ready to hang

This past year I planted my first rose bush in my yard.  I chose it for the color -- I don't know much about roses, but I want to learn more.  The rose plant iscalled a Tea Rose, and it produces roses in beautiful colors of peach, pink and white.  I painted this from a set-up in my studio, and the daisies were flowers I bought at the market.  Now I want to plant more rose bushes, but I have a feeling I should wait until cooler weather, since I live in the Phoenix area.

Spring Bouquet, 12x12 oil painting

Spring Bouquet

12x12 oil painting

on Raymar cotton panel

unframed

I painted this from a still life set-up in a class I took.  I can't remember which class -- it was either with Hedi Moran or Joni Falk.  I added a few touches of my own as well.  This is a 12x12 painting on a Raymar cotton panel, so I recommend that it be displayed in a frame.
