I got the inspiration for this painting from a local restaurant in Mesa, AZ called Rancho de Tia Rosa. It has a beautiful patio with ever-blooming flowers. Both the architecture and the food are wonderful! Unfortunately, Tia Rosa had a fire last December, and it's are still being reconstructed. They hope to re-open in December. If you're in Mesa, Arizona this is the place to go for some local color and great Mexican food!

This painting ships unframed,but it will fit a standard 12x16 open-back wood frame, available in most arts and crafts stores.

This painting was inspired by a local restaurant in northeast Mesa called El Rancho de Tia Rosa. Unfortunately, the restaurant had a fire last December and has been closed since then. But they are going to reopen in about two months. It's sad to think the beautiful building was damaged so badly, and I do hope they'll be able to restore its original look.

I've posted this painting before, but I made some minor adjustments to it, so I'm re-posting it.

Afternoon Shadows, 10x10 oil painting on deep-edge canvas

This painting is being donated to the Mesa Arts Center annual 10x10 exhibit and sale, which will occur on October 10, 2013 at the Mesa Arts Center in Mesa, Arizona.  This is the third year I've entered this show.  Since it's an event in Mesa, I chose a scene from a photo I took one late afternoon at Rancho de Tia Rosa, a wonderful Mexican restaurant in Mesa.  Tia Rosa not only has outstanding food, but the architecture is beautiful.  This painting is not for sale here, but it will be for sale at the show.  The price for all paintings at the show is $100.
